Lyrtech to Provide Prototype Image Acquisition Board for the Hubble Rescue Vehicle

QUEBEC CITY, Feb. 8 /CNW Telbec/ - Lyrtech Inc. (TSX Venture: LYT), worldwide leader in digital signal processing (DSP) technologies, announces that the Space Missions unit of MDA has chosen Lyrtech to provide a prototype image processing board to assist with the autonomous capture of the Hubble Space Telescope.

MDA is under contract to NASA to provide a potential information and robotic servicing solution to rescue the Hubble Space Telescope.

Lyrtech, with their strong experience in DSP/FPGA development, is able to provide MDA with an effective solution that will allow them to meet their tight deadlines and to provide MDA-Space Missions with a product that will combine precision and performance. The prototype image processing board that Lyrtech is manufacturing for MDA will serve as a template for an image recognition engine that will help the Hubble Rescue Vehicle maneuver around the Hubble Space Telescope.
