Altera and The MathWorks Showcase Their End-to-End Military DSP Development Capabilities

San Jose, Calif., April 6, 2009—Altera Corporation (NASDAQ: ALTR) today announced its "Military, Aerospace and Defense DSP Productivity Seminars" that will be presented jointly by representatives from Altera and The MathWorks. Seminar attendees learn how leveraging an Altera® and The MathWorks DSP development flow enables military and aerospace designers to improve their DSP design productivity and reduce engineering costs. The seminars are held on location at customer facilities throughout North America and Europe.

During the seminar, the two companies will present their end-to-end tool flow for algorithm modeling, simulation and implementation of sophisticated military and aerospace applications in Altera FPGAs. Altera will also present its long-range DSP technical roadmap and support plan.

As part of the seminar, Altera and The MathWorks highlight their DSP development flow by demonstrating an advanced-sensor front-end design example that delivers sustained 175-GMACS performance and a system clock rate of 350 MHz in a Stratix® IV GX FPGA. This highly optimized, high-performance system was developed using The MathWorks Simulink design tool and Altera's DSP Builder Advanced Blockset.
