Moog Announces Joint Development with Samplify Systems for Integrating Compression Technology Into CT Scanners

Moog Components Group announced today the formation of an exclusive partnership with Samplify Systems, Inc. to bring an innovative signal compression technology to the Computed Tomography (CT) market.

This new partnership will lower costs and improve performance of next-generation CT machines through a variety of product offerings and subsystems to be provided by Moog and integrated with Samplify’s patented Prism CT™ signal compression technology and silicon products.

“This partnership is the perfect mechanism to allow Moog to continue its path to the goal of providing complete solutions for data acquisition in CT scanners,” said Glenn Dorsey, Product Line Vice President at Moog Components Group. “Moog will be able to address some significant data bottlenecks for its customers with a new family of products exploiting signal compression.”

The Samplify compression scheme provides an efficient method for compressing sampled data in real time. As CT OEM’s continue to increase the amount of data generated and processed to improve functionality, the ability to compress the data while maintaining image quality will allow continued advancements in diagnostic abilities.
